Future Self Letter Workshop by Sima in Stripes at Disney

Updated: 6 days ago

Since the first idea and sketch, a lot has happened...

‘The Future Self Letter Set’ that I created, designed and illustrated

back in 2025 has led me down an unexpectedly wonderful path.

The idea was born from wanting to design a wellbeing product, that would enrich people’s lives, even if only in a small way, and offer them a tool to slow down, give them space for self reflection and writing down their thoughts in a meaningful and helpful way. This wholesome activity was something I wanted to make even more enjoyable by creating warm, heart-felt and soft aesthetic and different types of

letters for the ‘time travellers’ to use.

Once the ‘Future Self Letter Set’ was fresh out of print, all the parts put together and the letter set out in the real world, it received attention from the lovely customers who purchased it. What followed was the idea to run workshop sessions and introduce the product to a wider audience. Through those workshops I wanted to show the benefits of this activity that is very easy to follow at home and turn into a self-care habit. Another aim was to introduce all the benefits of handwriting, self-reflection and writing to your future self, followed by a creative, hands on, stamp making too.

As this journey continued, it led me to a wonderful opportunity that presented itself earlier this year. I received an invitation to be part of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day celebration at one of the Disney Offices in London, organised by the Women@Disney Committee and run my workshop for a fabulous group of people.

I planned and run three sessions throughout the day, offering a short presentation to share the information, explain different types of letters and how to use them, offering ideas how to get started and guiding the group, step by step, to successfully creating their own stamps. Hearing from the attendees how relaxed they felt at the end of each session, how they enjoyed the process and appreciated the time they could spend with themselves writing the letters was the biggest achievement for me.

Seeing the happy smiles and relaxed minds was truly wonderful.

What exactly happened during the 'Future Self Letter Workshop'

run by Sima in Stripes at Disney?

First, there was a quick introduction and a presentation to introduce all the benefits

of writing a letter to your future self and steps to explain how to use each letter and create a personalised stamp for printing.

Once the presentation was completed, the instrumental music in the background created a 'wellbeing bubble', perfect to dive into writing the four different types of Future Self Letters designed specifically to reflect on each individual’s past, present and future experiences, dreams and hopes. After the letters were completed, they were folded, sealed and labeled with an opening date.

Second part of the workshop was more hands on and creative in a different way. All the tools available on each desk helped attendees to create their own personalised printing stamp that they tested by printing them in their letters.

As a cherry on top and to appreciate and celebrate everyone, who had the time to join me during this workshop, wanted to try something new and made time for themselves in their busy schedules,

I finished with a small ‘graduation’ ceremony and awarded everyone

with their Time-travelling certificate.

What have I learned from following my idea to create this project and accepting this huge opportunity from a dream client?

  • The joy is in the small moments, small details and thoughtful touches. Adding something to appreciate your audience, show them they’ve achieved something and learnt new things is a lovely detail that wraps up the positive experience beautifully. Seeing the joy of every attendee accomplishing and completing the workshop and being awarded for that made all the difference.

  • Following a small idea can lead to unexpected and amazing opportunities along the way. No matter how small and unpredictable an idea can be, it is worth giving it space to grow and be brought to life. Every creative ideas deserves a chance, no matter the outcome. Believe in your vision.

  • The need to challenge yourself and accept those big opportunities is important. The feeling of getting out of a comfort zone might feel scary at first but once you face the challenges, it helps you to expand in so many ways and truly enjoy the achievement of taking the leap and self-growth.

  • Sharing the love and joy of what you do and the work you create with an audience that joins you and have a fantastic experience creates doubled amount of happiness for both sides. When your audience reaps the positive benefits from the work you’ve loved creating is priceless. The passion and good intentions you put into a project always show.

  • Create and offer the possibility for interaction. Whenever I design a product, run a workshop or share designs with a client, I love seeing the reactions, building the connections and appreciating the feedback. Work that is isolated stays stagnant, while sharing it with others can make it grow even more.

I would like to take the time to say a huge thank you and dedicate this article to all the customers who purchased my Future Self Letter Set and the wonderful team at Women@Disney, (Summer, Christina, Marie and the rest of the team) who invited me to host a one of a kind workshop for them this year and offered me the opportunity to celebrate with them all and create an unforgettable experience both for myself and I hope for everyone who attended one of the three sessions!

If you are interested in this workshop and would like to organise one for your team or group of friends, do not hesitate to reach out! I’d be happy to walk you through all the details and share more information.
